The theme of the celebration was “Maraming wika, matatag na bansa” (Many Languages for a stronger nation). This program was led by all the Filipino teachers from college down to elementary and kinder under the splendid leadership of Ms. Mae Olegario. Our department won the first prize in Sanaysay (essay) which was participated by Brother Junny Villarin a second year student, we also won the first prize in poster making which was achieved by Sister Kristal Matidios a first year student and in the Slogan making contest, we won the second prize which was participated by Brother Gerald Baňares a first year student. We joined the Awit Sabayan (Chorus) and unanticipated we won the first prize again with the help of Brother Jephta Mark Fuentes our music choreographer and unexpectedly we decided to join the Katutubong Sayaw (Ethnic Dance) which was choreographed by Brother Daryle Catalbas, to our surprise we still won the first prize in the said contest. Due to our hard work and aspiration to win, we gained the honor of being the Over-all Champion in this celebration. We proved to them that we are not only good at Biblical Studies but also in extra curricular activities. The BARE Department has lots of talented students from all over Philippines, we’ve got good singers, good folk/ethnic dancers, good artists and speakers, all of these people prepared themselves to be good servants of Christ in spite of the dozens of opportunities available outside SCC, they still chose to be a Religious Education student. Congratulations winners!
