SCC 9TH INTRAMURAL, HELD

To enhance the holistic well-being of the students, Sunrise Christian College (SCC) held its 9th Intramural with the theme “Balancing the Mind and Body through Sports and Arts Towards a Better Country” last September 25-29, 2006.
Different competitions took place to polish the capabilities of the students such as cheer dance competition, literary musical, beauty pageant and the exhausting yet fulfilling games.

The Unveiling Ceremony…
The event commenced with a motorcade from the SCC campus to the city proper with the Agusan National High School (ANHS) Drum and Bugle Corps. It was officially opened with the lighting of the torch by Matthew Cariaga and Jenelyn Obligado, 3rd year students. The founder Mr. Roman G. Cariaga and his wife Mrs. Avelina B. Cariaga, did the honor of raising the SCC Flag. Two representatives from each year level in the secondary and each college department participated the banner raising. The 4th year high school bagged the 1st prize.
The Quest for the Best….
… On Literary and Musical Contest
Participants flaunted their talents in singing (solo, duet, and chorus), dancing (folk dance) and speaking (oration). The grade six pupils garnered the highest points in the elementary level. The unity and hard-work of the seniors led them to victory. On the other hand, the Education Department stood out among the contenders.
… On Games
The students joined the four-day game events which ranged from native to athletics, from ballgames to swimming. The seniors and the education students surpassed again their respective opponents.
… On Beauties and Charms
Loveliness and glamour clothed that evening. For the Little Master and Miss SCC, the fairytale concept of the pageant enchanted the crowd. Mr. Caesar Waniwan, grade five pupil and Miss Julia Francesca Alim, grade six pupil captivated the hearts of the judges as well as the crowd. The statuesque presentation of the Mister and Miss SCC stunned the spectators. Mister Jay Vincent Fernandez, 1st year high school student and Miss Joan Go, 4th year high school student fascinated the jurors and the audience.
